By chance I ended up working on Sex and the City: The Movie. The visual effects team had a problem tracking couple of difficult shots panning a whole room. They could not get the tracking points to stick to the footage and the software was unable to get a proper solution.
A friend of mine asked if I could take a look at the shots. Two hours later I figured out the what the problem was. The shot was inside a room so the lens used was a wide angle lens making the edges of the footage to warp making it confusing for the algorithm trying to track points.
I did tracking for couple of shots and I also rendered the background plates of photos of New York in the background. As a thanks I got my first credit in a Hollywood movie.
